Doris Jean Bauske was born on February 17, 1930 in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Harvey Harold and Ethel Marie (Bruns) Bauske. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1949, then worked in the customer service industry as a waitress in the Jamestown area.
In 1950, Doris married Edwin Stromberg, who was employed by the Bureau of Reclamation. They lived and worked in North Dakota, Montana, and Washington. In 1956, they returned to the Jamestown area. Doris continued as a waitress at various businesses.
In 1964, she married James Emo. In the late 1960's, Doris began employment at the North Dakota State Hospital, Jamestown as a nurse's aide, and worked part-time as Jamestown Hospital.
In 1971, Doris married Elmer "Jim" Landscoot.
In the early 1970's, Doris studied and received her State of North Dakota Certification as a licensed practical nurse. In 1996, she retired from the North Dakota State Hospital. Doris continued in her medical career by providing nursing care for the elderly in nursing homes and in home health care in the Jamestown area. She continued working in the medical field until her own personal illness stopped her from continuing in 2004.
Doris is survived by one daughter, Jackie (Shawn) Graves, Jamestown, ND; one son, Michael (Sheryl) Stromberg, Bellbrook, OH; four grandchildren, Jamie Graves, Andrea Stromberg, Travis Graves, and Zachary Stromberg; two sisters, Sandy Moran, Spokane, WA and Cheryl Hazer, Woodworth, ND.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Stromberg; and her parents.
Memorial Service: 11:00AM, Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at Eddy Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating. No visitation scheduled.
