Geneva Marjorie Richardson of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on August 5, 2013, having reached the age of eighty-two years and nine days. Geneva was born in Leasburg, MO, on July 27, 1931, daughter of Arthur P. Copling, Sr. and Merle Copling nee Mize. On February 24, 1951 she was united in marriage to Orville Dennis Richardson and ten children came to bless this union.
Geneva is survived by her husband, the Rev. Orville Richardson of St. Clair, MO; by eight children, Donna Tillman and husband, John, of Farmington, MO, Debbie Woodcock and husband, Dean, of Lake Ozark, MO, Thomas Richardson and wife, Cheryl, of Richwoods, MO, Timothy Richardson and wife, Robin, of DeSoto, MO, Robert Richardson and wife, Tracy, of Fruita, CO, David Richardson and wife, April, of Richwoods, Maryellen Lackey and husband, James, of St. Clair, and Beth Gilmore and husband, Terry, of Rockford, IL; by two brothers, Robert Copling of Leasburg, MO and Arthur Copling, Jr. and wife, Margaret, of Wright City, MO; by two sisters, Georgia Leibensperger of St. Clair and Ethel Adams of Chicago, IL; by her sister-in-law, Rose Copling of Robertsville, MO; by twenty-two grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur, Sr. and Merle Copling; by two children, William A. Richardson and Denise Richardson; by one brother, Herbert Copling; and by two sisters, Hester Land and Helen Reiner.
Geneva was a Christian and current devoted member of St. Clair Southern Baptist Church, in St. Clair, MO. In past years, as her husband ministered many churches, she served as a Sunday school teacher and in the nursery department. During her working career, she was employed as a Certified Nurse's Assistant for various nursing homes in the area. Geneva had a variety of interests throughout her life, including raising beautiful flowers and gardening. She loved to read and sew and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. What meant most to her was time spent with and caring for her family. Her children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be forever cherished by them all.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair. Memorials may be made to the Autism Speaks, St. Louis, MO.
