Mr. Eason was born to the late Rom and Nettie Ivey Eason of Bensonand he retired from the North Carolina State Treasurer's Department with 32 years of service where he loved his work. He served his Country during WWII in the United States Army stationed at Keesler Field, Mississippi. During the 3 years and 9 months in the Army, he worked in the Military Office and supervised up to five clerks. His decorations included the American Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Campaign Medal. Mr. Eason at this time had two brothers in Germany and was exempted overseas duty. Mr. Eason took a course in photography while in the Army and for some time operated a business in Selma, NC, before going to work with the State. He was a member of Benson Memorial Methodist Church in Raleigh where he lived for many years. He was also a member of the Banner Post 109 American Legion in Benson. He was preceded in death by Brothers, R. T. Eason of Benson, Darius Eason & James H. Eason, both of Graham; Sisters, Florence Eason Barbour of Colonial Beach, VA & Vira Eason Barbour of Benson. Mr. Eason died at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at age 86.
