Virginia Emma Murphy, 84, of Jefferson City, MO, formerly of Moberly, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Home in Jefferson City. Mrs. Murphy was born July 23, 1928 in Detroit, MI, to Harry and Ethel (McEntee) Keith. She served in the US Navy from 1954-1957 and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Moberly. She married William Earl Murphy on September 1, 1957, in Honolulu, HA, and he survives. Also surviving are her children, Father Michael P. Murphy of Warsaw, MO, Teresa M. Wallbank and her husband Ashley of Port Smith, VA, William P. Murphy of Kingdom City, Maureena L. Tucker and her husband Kenny of Jefferson City, Jamie Murphy and his wife Tina of Columbia; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Raymond Keith.
Memorial contributions to the St. Pius X School Foundation or to St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Warsaw, MO, would be appreciated.
Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at St. Pius X Catholic Church with committal prayers and entombment following in the Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery at Jacksonville, MO.
