Nettie Thompson, the daughter of Itha Thompson and Sarah Ellis Thompson, was married to William Widner on November 28, 1889, in Monon in White County, Indiana with the Justice of the Peace, A. L. Caulkins, officiating. Mrs. Widner leaves the following siblings: Jennie Thompson Tyler (spouse: William Russell Tyler) of Delphi and a brother, Joe Thompson, of Delphi, Indiana.
Nettie and her husband, William, were the parents of ten children. Surviving are five daughters, Mable Widner Fife (DOB 10/4/1892) (spouse: Lorren H. Fife) of Brookston, Indiana; Nellie Widner Otte (DOB: (2/2/1894) (spouse: Herbert Ernest Otte) of Chicago, Illinois; Mollie Widner Barton (DOB 10/1895) (spouse: Harley J. Barton) of Gary, Indiana; Rose Widner Clark Pazza (DOB 2/27/1897) (spouse: Harry E. Clark) of California; and Jennie Widner Hathaway Mitchell (DOB 3/14/1902) (spouse: Henry T. Hathaway) of Rochester, Indiana; as well as two sons: James Widner (DOB 11/12/1899) (spouse: Alena Gallimore) of Delphi, Indiana and Jesse Widner (DOB 11/10/1916) (spouse: Juanita Mae Looker) of Radnor, Indiana. She was preceded in death by a son, William Widner, Jr. "Will", (DOB 7/7/1905 to 10/29/1936) (spouse: Rhoda Jetton Draper).
Family hosted William and Nettie for a 58th wedding anniversary party on November 28, 1947 which included twenty-seven grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren at the time.
