The widow Anna Reynolds Smith left Benton County, Indiana and arrived in Marion County, Iowa in 1853 with her children and widowed sister Margaret Reynolds Wells. Both sisters lost their husbands in Indiana.

Pleasantville News 1895 – Mrs. Anna Smith, of Swan, died on Friday and her remains were interred in the Pleasantville Cemetery Saturday. Mrs. Smith was an aunt of W. A. Wells and J. M. Reynolds, of this city, was over 80 years of age and had been totally blind for a number of years.
