In March 2000 I found my ggrandfather in the 1900 and 1910 Knox Co., Tennesse census, in the Eastern Hospital for the Insane. In April 2000, the then Lakeshore Mental Health Institute was kind enough to send me all the information they had on Sterling Neil. My husband and I visited the Institute and his grave sometime between April 2000 and July 2000. The grave was marked with only a small granite stone with the #3 on it. It was very sad to find that he had been here all this time and none of his descendants knew where he was buried and his grave was virtually unmarked. In July 2000, his descendants bought a stone to put on his grave, to honor his memory and his legacy. It was our honor to bring him back to his family again.
He married Nancy Sue Alice Buckner April 4, 1875
