Timmy Alvin Smith, 66, of Worthington, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at home, with his loving wife at his side. He was born Aug. 13, 1946, in Kittanning, son of Kenneth Alvin and Genavieve E. (Rupert) Smith. He worked maintenance at TV Manufacturing in Natrona Heights. He was a member of the National Guard and attended Christ Community Chapel, where he played in the church band. He was a musician most of his life, playing his B3 Hammond organ and two keyboards that he loved. He played at the Holiday Inn in Albany, N.Y., in Las Vegas and Toronto and traveled the country playing with the Vogues, Vagabonds and various other bands before coming back home and playing with the Silver Hamner Band and working at 5 Rubber in Kittanning. He is survived by his wife, who has been with him 23 years, Phyllis B. (Pollard) Smith; son, Philip J. Pollard (wife Patty), of Sarver, and their children, Veanna Rose and Zoey Lynn; son, Todd Smith (wife Judy), of Hattiesburg, Miss., and their children, Dereck, Darin, Aleshia and Autumn; and daughter, Amy Claypool (husband Eric), of Elderton, and their children, Autumn and Callen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roger D. Smith; and father-in-law, James H. Pollard Sr. He loved spending time with family, friends and spending time with Veanna. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME in Kittanning. Servcies will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with additional viewing one hour prior to service with Pastor Paul Rihel officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
