Donna Jean (Dawkins) Caplinger Dye, 76, of Mineral Wells, passed away July 3, 2011, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 21, 1934, a daughter of the late William Oscar Dawkins and Bessie (Carpenter).

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Cincinnati, graduate of PHS 1952, worked for Allegheney Power, and retired from Kmart.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Hubert Dye of Mineral Wells; three children, Cristy Ramsey and husband, Steven, of Parkersburg, Teresa Bunner of Millwood, W.Va., and Michael Caplinger and wife, Lori, of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Hubert Dye Junior and wife, Sharon, of Williamstown, Donna Jean Dye of Piedmont, Ala., and Richard Dye and wife, Gayla, of Woodlands, Texas; six step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedisys and all the loving prayers of friends and family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Caplinger; brother, Glenn Dawkins; two sisters, Beulah Ullom and Kathryn Coull; and one stepson, Jody Dye.

Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with the Rev. Earl Jackson and the Rev. Richard Dye officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
