Son of Samuel Allward (1818-1885) and Anne Pike (1821-1884).

He emigrated to Canada as a young child in 1854.

George married Margaret Keegan on Jan. 01, 1872 in Middlesex County. Marriage Register #044300.

They raised 9 known children;

3. William Thomas Allward 1876-1876.
4. Maude Allward 1878-1879.
5. Inez Mabel Allward 1880-1956.
6. Edwin Albert Allward 1882-
7. Annie Lavenia Allward 1884-1960.
8. Arthur Alward 1886-
9. Eunice "Vera" Allward 1891-1966.

George died from many years of Rheumatism and Phthisis (Tuberculosis). He was only 10 days short of his 62nd birthday. Death Register #031437.

Here is his Obituary:
The death of Mr. George Allward occurred Friday morning at o'clock after a lingering illness. He had been of sufferer from rheumatism for the past eight years and was confined to his bed since March. The late Mr. Allward was born in Plymouth, Devonshire County, England, 61 years ago and when a lad 7 years old came to Canada. For the past 30 years he has been resident of Waterloo and was employed with Mr. J. E. Seagram as cooper until illness foreed him to relinquish his position. The late Mr. Alwood served the town as councillor for several years. In politics he was a Conservative, A widow, 3 sons and 3 daughters Survive namely, Fred, Moosejaw, Sask; George, Uypsilanti, Mich.; Edward, of Estavan, Sask., Inez, Vera home and Annie, Wionna, Ore. Two brothers, Samuel, Barrie; Edward, of Toronto and one sister, Mrs. Ward, London, Ontario.
