My GREAT grandmother. The first wife of Capt. John Johnson (Rev. War). She is the daughter of Jabez Clark and Sarah Judd and was born 1 January 1749. She married John Johnson 10 November, 1787 (vital records of East Hampton). John is the son of James Johnson (Winthrop link) and Jane Harris (Mayflower link). She and Capt. John are parents to 10 children all born in Chatham, CT; one a twin, Timothy died young. The nine other children well educated, married and had many children and lived in the area. One of those children is my gr-gr grandfather Capt. Cyrus Johnson, ESQ; War of 1812. Cyrus and his wife Abigail Wheeler -- my gr-gr grandparents -- had a home on the other end of Johnson Hill Road in Lisle also.

It has been noted that Capt. John Johnson and his family moved to Sharon, Schoharie Co., N.Y. in 1785. In 1801 the family moved to Lisle, Broome Co., N.Y. With the Capt. was a wife age 52, that would be Hannah; and 2 children which would be Jane and Charlotte. In my DAR records, it is stated that Hannah died in Lisle, N.Y. in 1808; but I do not have the exact date.

Capt. John married second to Mrs. Sara Carter, mother of his son Abner's wife. There were no children by this marriage.

Capt. Johnson, on July 25, 1815, Lisle, Broome Co., N.Y. married Mrs. Clarissa Parker (Minor), (Rock). Her maiden name being Parker. To this union, 2 children were born; Franklin (1822) and Clarissa (1823).
