Frances "Fran" L. Carlin, 75, of Grand Forks, ND, died Tuesday, March 10, 2003, at the Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks, ND.
Frances "Fran" Carlin was born May 7, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Indiana the daughter of Lee and Frances (Doughtery) Girdler. She grew up and attended school in Indianapolis, Indiana. She married William "Harvey" Carlin in Indianapolis, Indiana on October 18, 1947. They moved to Bathgate, ND where they farmed. They moved to Larimore, ND in 1972 and then to Grand Forks, ND in 1975 where she worked for the Associate Potato Company. She worked for the Valley Eldercare Nursing Center in Housekeeping from 1981 until her retirement in 1989.
She is survived by 7 daughters: Catherine (John) Perkins of Spokane, WA; Frances (Tom) Ball of Burleigh, WA; Nancy (Arden) Seim of Grand Forks, ND; Sandra (Martin) Vait of Sauk Center, MN; Margaret (John) Pikus of Sartell, MN; Mary Carlin of Sartell, MN; Donna (Jesse) Hemmingsen, of Livingston, MT; 2 sons, William (Marie) Carlin of Drayton, ND and David Carlin of Burlingame, CA; 25 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey on April 6, 1992; 2 brothers, George and James; a sister, Mary; a granddaughter, Rochelle Lehner.
Funeral service: Friday, March 15, 2003, at the St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Burial: Bathgate Catholic Cemetery, Bathgate, ND.
