Vernon L. Sutton
(December 22, 1923 - September 28, 2007)

U.S. Veteran Vernon L. Sutton son of the late Lucy Barton Sutton and Lemro Sutton was born in Centerville, Missouri, on December 22, 1923. He departed this life at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington, Missouri, on September 28, 2007, having attained the age of 83 years, nine months and six days.

On November 13, 1943 at Fort McClellan, Alabama, Vernon was united in marriage to Oca Lee Bowles; to this loving union two daughters were born.

Vernon was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in WWII. He was a member of the Centerville First Baptist Church and he had served on the Centerville School Board. Vernon's hobbies included fishing, hunting and working on his truck. He worked hard his whole life.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Frances Sutton and an infant sister.

Vernon is survived by his wife Oca Lee of Centerville, two daughters, Lynn Adams and husband Bud of Lesterville, Jeanie Wetzel and husband Duane of Ellington,one brother, Loren Sutton of Centerville, three grandchildren, Todd Adams of Lesterville, Jonathan Wetzel and wife Michelle of West Plains, and Julie Fox of Ellington, and one great-grandson, Michael Fox. Vernon will be sadly missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn his passing.

Funeral Services were held at the Centerville First Baptist Church Monday October 1, 2007 at 11:00 A.M.

Burial: Centerville City Cemetery

Pallbearers: Loren Sutton, Todd Adams, Jonathan Wetzel, Bob Sutton, Donald Bonney, Virgil Larkin Jr. and Michael Fox.
