Mr. Mark Anthony Shumate, age 45, of McGrady, died Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Center. Mr. Shumate was born November 28, 1967 in Wilkes County to Randall Stewart Shumate, Sr. and Doris Shumate.
Surviving are two daughters, Kasey Jane Shumate Childress, Kayla Grey Shumate Childress both of Taylorsville; his mother, Doris Shumate of McGrady; his father Randall Stewart Shumate, Sr. of McGrady; two brothers, Randall Stewart Shumate, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Eric Shea Shumate all of McGrady; one sister, Angela Shumate Chastain of North Wilkesboro; nephew, Cody Shea Shumate of West Virginia; and two nieces, Amber Faw Chastain of North Wilkesboro, Chelsey Marie Shumate of Hays.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 o'clock Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Miller Funeral Chapel with Rev. Earl Rakes and Rev. Reggie Shumate officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Tabernacle Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 6:00 until 8:00 o'clock Tuesday night. Flowers will be accepted.
