Julia Ann Broughman Gibson was the daughter of Joseph William Broughman and Harriet Elizabeth Nicely. She married Marvin Douglas Gibson Sr. March 14, 1928, in Clifton Forge, Virginia.

Mrs. Julia Broughman Gibson, age 86, of 921 Kensington Ave., died Wednesday at the Alleghany Regional Hospital.

She was born October 27, 1904, in Botetourt County, daughter of late Joseph W. and Hattie Nicely Broughman. She was the widow of Marvin D. "Shug" Gibson, Sr. and a member of Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church.

Survived by one daughter Mrs. Harold W. (Joyce) Campbell and one son, Marvin D. "Dutch" Gibson, Jr. both of Clifton Forge. Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Clarence W. "Moon" Gibson.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 14, 1991 at 11:00 a.m., Mountain View Cemetery with Dr. William O. Moore officiating, interment to follow. Family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.
