Janet Ray, age 93, of Harrison Senior Living, Christiana, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013. She was the wife of the late Gordon W. Ray. Born in Christiana, she was the daughter of Thomas H. and Florence M. Boohar Hirst. She was a member of Christiana United Methodist Church.
Janet is survived by 3 sons: Vernon, husband of Diane Ray, Carl Ray, and Barry, husband of Melanie Coates Ray; son-in-law, Roy Groff; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Groff, and grandson, Eric Torbert, Jr. Janet was the last of her siblings.
The funeral service will be on Tuesday, August 6, at 5:00 p.m. from Shivery Funeral Home, 111 Elizabeth Street, Christiana, PA 17509 with Pastor William H. Stoner, Jr. officiating.
