Edgar L. Samples, 58, Fayetteville, died September 15 in a Fayetteville hospital. Born on August 15, 1918, at St. Paul, he was the son of Oliver and Jessie Burnett Samples, a veteran of World War 11 and a member of the American American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Ball Samples of home; two daughters, Mrs. Pat Harriman, West Fork, and Mrs. Jan Jackson, Fayetteville; two brothers, Troy Samples, Denver, Colorado, and Coy Samples, Hutchinson, Kansas; and three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Giermann, Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Iva Taggart, Hutchinson, Kansas, and Mrs. Delma Watkins, Winslow; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held September 16, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Nelson Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Chaplain Terrell Gordon officiating. Burial was in National Cemetery under the direction of Nelson's.
Pallbearers were Lyle Ullam, Russell Patton, Charles Patton, Eddy Patton, Ronnie Watkins and Everett Watkins.
