Services for Matthew Kennedy Dickson Jr., 71, of Dallas, formerly of Paducah, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Carson Chapel at First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Dr. John Wood and Dr. J. Kevin McCallon will officiate, and burial will be in Mount Kenton Cemetery.
Mr. Dickson died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Presbyterian Medical Center in Dallas.
He was a retired sales manager for Wholesale Building Materials in Cape Girardeau, Mo., and a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 127.
Surviving are his wife, Bettie Purdy Dickson; one son, Dennis Kennedy Dickson of Collierville, Tenn.; one daughter, Katheryn Jayne Truax of Dallas; one stepson, Bradford W. Blaine of Dallas; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. His parents were Matthew K. Dickson Sr. and Sally Malone Dickson.
Masonic services for Mr. Dickson will be held at 7 this evening at Milner and Orr Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today and from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Visitors may also call at the church from noon until the funeral hour.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 2890 Broadway, Paducah, KY 42001.
