Mrs. Laura Padgett, widow of Geo. Padgett, died Sunday morning, Sept. 17. She was visiting at the home of A. G. Bunch and had gone to bed on Saturday night, feeling as well as usual. They were awakened by her groans about 12 o'clock in the night and did all they could to relieve her suffering, but her spirit took its flight about 7 o'clock Sunday morning. Deceased was about 75 years of age and had been a member of the Eubank Baptist church for a number of years. She is survived by one son, Ransom Padgett, of this place. Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. Bunch at 11 a. m., Monday, by Rev. A. G. Coker, after which the remains were taken to Eubank and interred by the side of her husband.
