A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, in Cedar Rapids, NE, with Msgr. Ralph Steffensmeier officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. today at the church with a 7:00 p.m. wake service. Visitation will resume Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Frances Rose Ziemba, the daughter of Stanley and Valeria (Micek) Armatys Sr. was born February 8, 1920, in rural Cedar Rapids, NE. She was baptized at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, in Cedar Rapids, and attended country school at District #29 through the eighth grade. Following her education she worked for area neighbors doing various jobs.
On May 7, 1946, Frances was united in marriage to Frank Ziemba at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. To this union four children were born: Marge, Betty, Ron, and Bob. Following their marriage they lived briefly in Genoa and then settled southwest of Cedar Rapids. She continued to live there until 2011 when she moved into the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.
Frances loved to cook and entertain for family and guests. One of her true passions was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the St. Anthony's Altar Society and a lifelong member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her four children, daughters, Marge (George) Childers, of Elgin, Betty Thompson, of Minden; sons, Ron (Mary), of Cedar Rapids, Bob, of Cedar Rapids, and significant other, Judy Weitzel, of Grand Island; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Ed Armatys, of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Leona Armatys, of Cedar Rapids; and very special friend, Betty Martin, of Albion.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank, in 2008; brothers, Ted Armatys, and Stanley Armatys Jr.; sister-in-law, Theresa Armatys; and grandson-in-law, Jeff Scholl.
