CALIFORNIA— Joseph Samuel (Joe) Lombard was born in Mobile, Alabama on February 11, 1927, the third child of John and Bessie LeMay Lombard. He died on July 21, 2005, in San Bernardino, California. A memorial service will be held at the Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Hitchcock, on August 6, 2005, at 1 p.m.

Joe lived in Texas City for over twenty years, and was manager of the local office of Consolidated Electrical Distributors. Upon his retirement from CED in 1988, he moved to Yerington, Nevada, and in 1998 he moved to San Bernardino after the death of his wife, Toni Garrett Lombard.

He is preceded in death by a son, Ronald Stephen Lombard; two brothers, John E. Lombard Jr. and William Franklin Lombard; and two sisters,-Grace Cornelius and Mickey Peters.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Gregory Lombard and wife Cathy of San Bernardino and Paul Louis Lombard of Paramount, California; three stepsons, Shelby
Garrett and wife Sandra of Lebanon, Oregon, Dennis Garrett and wife Yvonne of Davis, California, and Grego Garrett and wife Janis of Texas City. Joe has one surviving brother, Paul Lombard and wife Carole of Texas City; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

When he was 17, Joe told the recruiter he was 18 and joined the U.S. Navy, where he served as a medical corpsman during World War IT. Following a plan devised when his wife, Toni, died in 1998, her ashes will be entombed beside Joe's in a companion niche in the Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum.
