Catherine Gilligan, formerly of Wyoming, died Friday at Dorrance Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kingston.

Born in Plains Township, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Antoinette Kraynak Figel.

She lived in Wyoming and West Wyoming for most of her life.

She graduated from Plains High School and Wilkes-Barre Business School.

Before retiring, she was employed as a waitress for Fox Hill Country Club for 20 years.

She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, West Wyoming, and its Christian Mothers Altar and Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1966.

Surviving are her son, Richard, Lolo, Mont.; sisters Mary Haslin and Ann Haslin, both of Plains; Alice Janeski, Baltimore, Md.; brother, Michael Figel, Plains; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Metcalfe & Shaver Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, West Wyoming.

Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, Kingston Township.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Christian Mothers Altar and Rosary Society will say the Rosary at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
