Charles (Chuck) Edward Holden, son of Oscar D. and Gladys Swallow Holden, was born Jan. 21, 1916 at Ludlow, Mo. and passed away en-route to Chillicothe hospital April 6, 1960 at the age of 44 years, 2 months and 16 days.
On Nov. 2, 1938, he was united in marriage to Edna Robinson, Ludlow, Mo. To this union was born one daughter, Cheryl Ann Holden, now a student nurse in Missouri Methodist hospital, St. Joseph, Mo.
He was married to Dolly Ball, Braymer, Mo., Feb. 15, 1945, and to this union was born one daughter, Nancy Jo Holden.
He leaves to mourn his passing, besides his wife and daughters of the home, his father Oscar D. Holden and mother Gladys Holden of Ludlow, Mo. An aunt, Juanita Brown and family of St. Joseph, Mo., other relatives and a host of friends.
Charles spent most of his life in and around Ludlow except for 14 months in the armed services.
He was a member of the Ludlow Methodist Church, the Lions club of Ludlow and Dawn AF & AM. No. 539.
"Chuck" was a kind and loving husband and father devoted to his family, his friends and his church.
Memorial services were held Sunday. April 10, at 2 p.m. from the Ludlow Methodist Church. The Rev. Wayne Cline officiated. Music was furnished by Billy Copple who sang, "Beyond the Sunset" and Maurine Hatchitt, who sang, "Remembering". They were accompanied by Mrs. Maurice Hatchitt.
Casket bearers were John Busby, Ed Daugherty, Ray Spaulding, Richard Copple, Ted Bealer and John Wolcott.
Honorary pallbearers were the Ludlow Lions Club and other friends. Flower girls were also close friends of the family.
Graveside services were conducted by AF & A.M. No. 539.
Interment was made in Monroe cemetery, Ludlow under the direction of Mead-Pitts Funeral Home Braymer, Mo.
