DIED –At her home in Barr Township, July 31, 1876, Elizabeth Beckett, wife of John Beckett.
Mrs. Beckett was the daughter of Overton Cosby, now deceased, who was one of the earliest pioneers of this country. Mrs. Beckett was born August 13, 1820, and was the youngest of nine children, all of whom survive her. She was interred in Veale Creek cemetery the Wednesday following her death. The funeral service being conducted by Rev. H. Helm of this place. Mrs. Beckett leaves a husband and five children to mourn her seemingly premature death.
