Mr. Cody L. Collins, age 32, of Nacogdoches, Texas, passed away Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013.
Mr. Collins was born May 22, 1981, in Nacogdoches and was a lifelong area resident.
His survivors include his mother, Dena Lunsford, and his father, Terry Collins.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, Texas. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 5127 North Street in Nacogdoches.

Funeral services for Cody L. Collins, age 32, of Nacogdoches, Texas, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Pastor Paul Sevar officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Nacogdoches. Cody, born in Nacogdoches, attended Nacogdoches High School and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelor's degree in agricultural business. He never met a stranger and could always make people smile in spite of his hardships. Cody never gave up his fight with brain cancer and was even planning for Christmas presents and buying a new four-wheeler. Cody was a dedicated son, brother and uncle. Cody was always on time, very dependable and loved to work. He loved music, playing guitar, playing washers with friends and eating Mexican food, especially Freebird's. Cody played baseball in high school and enjoyed watching his nephew play ball regularly. Cody enjoyed expressing his opinions and wasn't afraid to share them. He will be greatly missed, but his family knows they will see him one day and they are glad that he is no longer suffering. Cody is survived by his parents, Dena and Danny Lunsford and Terry and Debbie Collins; sisters, Candace Garcia and husband, Joe, of Nacogdoches, and Sherry Grissom and husband, Brad, of The Colony; nieces and nephews, Hunter and Natalie Shafer and Grayson and Macy Grissom; step-brothers, Greg Lunsford and wife, Lindsey, Dan Lunsford, and T.J. Garber and wife, Amber, all of Nacogdoches; and step-sister, Christina Gomez of Nacogdoches. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Louise Moody; and paternal grandparents, Lester and Macie Collins. Visitation was Saturday, Aug 3, 2013, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Taylor, Greg Lunsford, Lynn Ainsworth, Chad Collins, Dan Lunsford, and T.J. Garber. Memorials may be made to Brain Power 5K, P.O.
