Barbara R. Rushing, 73, of El Paso, passed away at 8:40p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Meadows Mennonite Home in rural Chenoa. She was born on May 9, 1938 in Peoria, IL a daughter of Raymond and Evelyn Simmons Phillips. Survivors include one daughter, Rosemary (Arthur) Boelke of West Jefferson, N.C.; three sons, Clayton Rushing of Secor; Clifford (Michelle) Rushing of Hudson; Clinton Rushing of Rantoul; two brothers, Alfred (Brenda) Phillips; Richard (Connie) Phillips both of Washington, IL; two sisters, Juanita Tiller; Nancy (Paul) Hulse both of El Paso; five grandchildren, Amanda Boelke, Adam Boelke, Randi Rushing, Riley Rushing, and Jackson Arthur Rushing. She was preceded in death by Wilford Rushing, her parents and two sisters, Madonna Shepard and Sharon Grubb. Barbara was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in El Paso. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in El Paso. Rev. Jane Roeschley will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in El Paso.
