Mr. Swenson immigrated to this country in 1886. His parents were John Herman and Louise Swenson. Both are buried in Scandanavian Cemetery in separate plots. He married Jeannette Bergman of Pecatonica, Illinois in 1905. She died a very tragic death by fire in 1923 while attempting to clean the kitchen stove. After the death of his wife, Mr. Swenson remained single. Both he and Jeanette had 5 children. Mildred, John, Dorothy, Marie, and Carl. He was employed for 50 years at the Haddorf Piano Company. He retired at the age of 74. He lived a rich and a full life, and lived life to the fullest. He had a very unique sense of humor that was a very special delight for all. He suffered from heart trouble in his later years, to which he finally succumbed in January of 1964.
