Patricia Sandberg and her husband, U.S. Marine Corps Captain Michael Sandberg, were married in a military ceremony at Kaneohe Marine Corps Air Station on Oahu, Hawaii. They were murdered during a home-invasion robbery. They were both University of Arizona graduate students.
One of the two killers died of liver disease in 1987 while awaiting execution on Arizona's death row. The other was executed on June 3, 1998.
