Hello. I've been researching my Hawkins' lines for several years. Melinda is my 4th cousin, 5x removed. Her birth date appears on page 248 in Hawkins' Genealogy. I'm not sure if Melinda was born in New York or Vermont.
She was married to Jeremiah Bresee (or Breese). The couple had 8 recorded children (who I'm currently reseaching).
She appears in the 1850 Census with her adult son John in Stephenson County, Illinois. Jeremiah is not with them. In 1860 she's living in Scotland County, Missouri with her daughter Almira Crandall and family.
Since her husband Jeremiah is not on Find A Grave, perhaps you could add to her biography section:
