Henry A. Howard was the son of Ralph and Adelia (Weaver) Howard. He married Mary E. Robbins October 18, 1875 in Boston, Massachusetts.

He was 19 and a student when he enlisted in Company G, Massachusetts 60th Infantry Regiment on July 19, 1864. He was mustered out on November 30, 1864 at Indianapolis, IN.

Henry A. Howard, one of the oldest members of the Warren County Bar Association, died yesterday afternoon at his residence, 51 Warren Street, Glens Falls. He was born at Windsor, Vt., seventy-seven years ago and up to about twenty years ago was one of the most active practicing attorneys in this section. In the early eighties he was a leader In Warren County Republican politics and served two terms as District Attorney, and was the prosecuting attorney in the famous Willett murder case.

He was a veteran of the Civil War, enlisting at Boston July 19, 1864, in company G, Sixtieth Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteers, and was discharged as physically disabled In November 20 of the same year, when his right arm was injured in battle. He was a member of the E. M. Wing Post, G. A. R., and always took an active part in the activities of that organization. The only immediate survivor is his wife.
