Charles was the son of Elisha Stetson and Rebecca Curtis. He married Almira Watson about 1830 in Maine. They moved to the Newell area after 1870. They were the parents of Isaac (died in Maine 1852), Ebenezer (born 4-1-1834), and Susan.
April 15, 1892 - Newell Mirror - Last Monday, the 11th inst., Chas. Stetson attained the ripe age of 90 years and on the occasion, through the efforts of Jas. M. Mack, a purse of $24.00 was made up by our people and presented to him as a token of kind regards and well wishes.
June 7, 1895 - Newell Mirror - We learn just as we go to press that Chas. Stetson died Thursday at one o'clock p.m. He had been quite low several days, and his death was not unexpected, he was past 93 years of age.
