AUTRYVILLE - Lloyd Cecil Townsend, 61, of Autryville, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009, in his home. Mr. Townsend was born in Buna, Texas, on Sept. 24, 1947, the son of Robert Townsend and Viola Ard. He was a superintendent in the construction industry.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, Feb. 26, 2009, in Stedman Baptist Church in Stedman. Dr. Phil Spears and the Rev. Michael Salisbury will officiate. Burial will be in Brock family cemetery. The family received friends on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at Butler Funeral Home in Stedman. Mr. Townsend is survived by his wife, Kathleen Townsend of the home; daughters, Kathy Sue Brock and husband Calvin of Stedman, and Stacy Dubose and Stephanie Herrington, both of Texas; sons, Jerry Townsend, Michael Townsend and Robert Townsend, all of Texas; a brother, Robert Townsend of Florida; a sister, Vivian Markle of Texas; adoptive mother, Irene Puryear of Clinton; two special grandchildren, Casey Amanda and Charles; and 10 additional grandchildren.
