Charles W. Codwise, 81, of Bonita Springs, died yesterday morning at the Lee Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Codwise was born in oak, Pa., and moved to Bonita Springs with his wife, Mrs. Mabel Codwise, in 1916 where they have made their home, devoting their entire time to the nursery business.

Besides his wife he is survived by three nephews, Capt. M. P. Codwise, of Miami, Phillip Codwise, Kenmore, N.Y., and Hubert E. Codwise, London, England.

Funeral Services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 in the Lawrence A Powell chapel on First street, with Mrs. Amour D. Martin, reader for the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in charge. The body will be sent to Orlando.

Mr. Codwise was a 27 year resident of the Bonita Springs, FL area when he died in a hospital in Fort Myers.

He was a horticulturist.

His parents were George W Codwise, of the West Indies and Beatrice L Janais, of Geneva, Switzerland.

Mr. Codwise was cremated by Carey Hand Funeral Home in Orlando, FL and ashes sent to Lawrence A. Powell Funeral Home, Ft. Myers, FL
