Ann H. Gardner, 94, of Amarillo died Tuesday, July 30, 2013.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Second Baptist Church with Brother Wayne Griffin of Second Baptist Church, Dr. Charles Jones of Hollywood Road Fellowship and the Rev. Scott Raef of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Ann was born Jan. 24, 1919, in Knoxville, Tenn. She graduated from Panhandle High School and worked for the Social Security Administration for 42 years. She married the love of her life, V.R. Gardner. Together they celebrated 50 years of loving and joyous marriage on earth and are now reunited in Heaven.

Ann was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church and an active member in the music program. She also was a beloved guest for six years at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

She enjoyed the mountains and the vacation cabin in Eagle Nest, N.M. Famous for sugar cookies, Ann was affectionately known as the cookie lady.

She was preceded in death by her husband and by a sister, Madie.

Survivors include a son, James Gardner and wife Carol of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Cassi, Christopher and Matthew; a great-grandson, Tristen; and a niece, Donna Keeney.

The family suggests memorials be to Second Baptist Church Music Ministry, 419 N. Buchanan St., Amarillo, TX 79107.
