She was a graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi and a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. For 20 years she was a dedicated teacher serving the children of Glen Allen and Grenada, Miss. She was a Life-Member of Grenada Junior Auxiliary. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a former member of First United Methodist Church. Her love for the Lord was evidenced by the fruits of the Spirit that were so prominent in her life--love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Collins and her husband, Royce, of Birmingham, Ala., and Kathy Bledsoe of Kansas City, Mo. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Andrea Flowers (Nathan), David Bledsoe (Amber), Stephanie Hall (Jeremy), JoAnna Bledsoe, Katherine Bledsoe, James Bledsoe, Joel Bledsoe, Meredith DeVore (Elliott), Griffin Collins, and Rebecca Collins. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Savannah Hall, Jeremiah Hall and Zackary Flowers; sister-in-law, Patty Grimes and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Hill; brothers, Ted Hill, Joe Hill, Billy Hill, and Bobby Hill; sisters, Evelyn Rollings and Doris Crim; and a great-grandson, Jameson Hall.
Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 475 Pearidge Rd. Grenada, MS 38901 or to a charity of choice.
Visitation was held Saturday, July 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Garner Harper Funeral Home. A celebration of Louise's life was held on Sunday, July 28, at 3 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church. Interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery.
