Charles Edward McDowell
Charles was born Tuesday 24-DEC-1878 in Mills Co., Iowa, to John and Emily
Baldwin McDowell. He married Ezma E. Dillehay and to this union were born
two sons, Charles Elden and Jack Avery McDowell.


Charles McDowell, 87, of 320 Locust Street died Saturday morning in Poudre Valley Memorial Hospital. He was born in Mills Co., Iowa, on December 24, 1878. His wife, Ezma, died many years ago.
Mr. McDowell worked as a painter and decorator, and was a member of the Painters Union, Local No. 264. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Denver.
He settled in Greeley about 1928, then moved to Denver about 1945. He made his home with a son, Elden, in Denver until the son's death. For the past five years Mr. McDowell has spent the summers here with his son, Jack McDowell, and the winters in Mesa, Arizona.
Survivors include one so, Jack McDowell of 320 Locust Street a sister, Mrs. W..A. Napier of Las Vegas, Nevada, and eight nephews.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. A.P. Gaines of the First Methodist Church on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Blythe-Goodrich Mortuary. Burial will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver
