Saul Abishia Camp son of Joseph Pinckney Camp and Margaret Quinn was born April 6, 1807 in York County, S.C. Died in what is now Cherokee Co. S.C. Nov. 18, 1894. and was buried at the Joseph Pinckney Camp home, Married Aug 2 1838 by Rev Drury Scruggs, Harriet Caroline Surratt, Born June 13 1814 in S.C. died July 4, 1874 in what is now Cherokee County, S.C. and was buried at the Joseph Pinckney home, daughter of John Surratt died Sept. 13, 1854 and Jane---- died May 11, 1833. Saul Abishia Camp carried the stone from South Carolina for the Washington Monument to Washington, D.C. in a four horse wagon spending 30 days going and three months for the entire trip. A Negro Man named John went with him.
