1953 - 2013
Rodney Lee Gilbert, age 60, of Olive Hill, Ky., passed away Wednesday morning, July 31, 2013, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Kentucky.
He was born February 6, 1953, in Coldwater, OH., a son of the late Matt and Mary Edith Bryant Gilbert.
Rodney was a self employed mechanic and enjoyed woodworking and art. He loved playing music with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Ray Gilbert, and one sister, Carolyn Scott.
Rodney is survived by two sons, Rodney Gilbert Jr., and his companion, Joann Cline, and Darrin Gilbert all of Olive Hill, KY., two daughters, Amy Lea Gilbert of Indiana and Robin Gilbert and her companion, James Prichard, of Olive Hill, KY., one granddaughter, Marissa Jo Gilbert, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, George Gilbert and Charlie and Margaret Gilbert all of Olive Hill, KY., and Randy and Roxy Gilbert of South Carolina, and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Phyllis Gilbert of Olive Hill, KY., and Karen and Tom Anderton, of Columbus, OH. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2013, at the Gilbert Family Cemetery in Grahn, Kentucky.
