Solveig Eugenia Larsen was born on October 26, 1900, in Kempen, Oslo Oslo, Norway, To Karl Johan Larsen & Olga Marie Hansen. Solveig's father Karl immagrated to the United States and located a home for his family.Solveig Immigrated through Ellis Island, New York, from Christiania Norway on the ship, Hellig Olav, in July 1910. Solveig at age 9 was traveling with her mother Olga, sisters Rangnhild & Lilli, and Brother Henri. She was on her way to join her father in their new home at 1518 Rainier Ave, Seattle, Washington. Her father had obtained a job with the Renton Police Department. Sometime prior to 1917, Karl Larsen took his family to Petersburg Alaska, where he returned to his native trade of fishing. This is where Solveig met and married Toralph Hadland on November 10, 1919, in Wrangell Island, Petersburg County, Alaska. They had five children, Lovetta, Thomas, Genevieve, and twins Sylvia & Eugenia, in Alaska. Solveig returned to Seattle with her husband and children sometime after 1930, locating in Ballard, where they had a sixth child, Ralph. Toralph continued his fishing, leaving Solveig and the children for long periods of time and returning to Alaska. After her husband's death Solveig remarried Thomas McKenrick, they resided in Soap Lake, Washington, until his death. Solveig returned to Seattle where she was the matriarch of the family. Solveig's Children, numerous Grandchildren & Great-grandchildren miss her tremendously. Solveig died on December 2, 1989, in Seattle, Washington, at the age of 89.
