Marie Sophia (Feil) Rogg, 105, of Russell, Kansas died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Main Street Manor in Russell.

Marie was born November 1, 1907 on the family farm southwest of Bunker Hill, Kansas. She grew up in the Bunker Hill area and attended Pioneer Country School. She graduated from Bunker Hill High School.

Marie was united in marriage to Raymond H. Rogg on June 14, 1928 in WaKeeney, Kansas. They were blessed with two children; Julia Rae and Kenneth. They made their home in the Pioneer district near Bunker Hill before moving to the Rockefeller Ranch north of town. When Wilson Lake was developed they had to move to the Covert area in Osborne County. Raymond preceded her in death in 1967. After his death, Marie moved to Russell.

Marie was a devoted mother and farmer's wife. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a 76 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved playing Bridge, having her family around and cooking for them.

Surviving family include her daughter, Julia Rae Chegwidden (Don) of Russell, Kansas; two sisters, Helen I. Rogg of Russell, Kansas and Edna Olson of Sun City West, Arizona; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Kenneth Duane Rogg in 1991 and four brothers.

Celebration of Marie's Life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 2, 2013 at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary with Pastor John Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at the Russell City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the mortuary.

A Memorial has been established with the Russell County Food Pantry. Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary who is in charge of these arrangements.
