Perkins, Julie van der vet 01/14/1923 ~ 07/20/2013 EL CAJON -- Julie was born in Rotterdam, Holland to Eduard and Geertruida van der Vet. She loved animals and music, and played violin on stage as a child. After enduring the war in occupied Holland, she joined UNRRA in Germany and later worked for US Army in Garmish. In 1952, Julie met Sgt. Bob Perkins, they fell in love and in 1953, she joined Bob in America where they were married. She lived the Army life traveling the world until 1970 when Bob retired and the family moved to El Cajon. She leaves husband Bob, daughter Carol, son-in-law Dave Nelsen, nieces Marja and Renee in Holland and two dear cats. Family and friends will gather 5-7 p.m. on August 1st at Aztlan Mortuary, La Mesa for final goodbyes. Private burial at Miramar National Cemetery on August 2nd. She is loved and will be missed.
