Florida man was native of Catawissa
Benjamin R. George, 76, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., died on July 28, 2013.
Ben was born May 7, 1937, in Catawissa, to Benjamin and Dorothy George. A graduate of Catawissa High School in 1955, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, who served in Korea and Africa. Ben was the owner and operator of B&B Wholesalers in Duncansville, Pa., and retired to Port St. Lucie in 2005.
Ben was a member of his high school soccer team, as well as the Armed Forces Soccer Team.
An active member of his community, Ben participated in several local organizations and volunteered at St. Lucie Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Judith George; sons: David Isaacson of Wisconsin, and Jon Isaacson of Pennsylvania; daughter: Rachel Isaacson of Pennsylvania; sisters: Jane Haladay of Florida; Karen Nelson of Florida, and Judy Descombes of Georgia; five grandchildren; and 11 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Ben's life will be held Sept. 1, 2013, in Port Lucie, Fla.
