Funeral services for Brenda Carol Pitts, 44, will be held 11AM Thursday, August 1, 2013 in the chapel at JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL. Entombment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery. Brenda was born in Jacksonville, FL on December 9, 1968 to Jerry R. Smith Sr. and Carolyn Smith. She passed away on July 27, 2013 after a long and difficult illness.
Brenda graduated from N.B. Forrest High School. She went on to receive her AA Degree from Jacksonville Community College. Brenda has been a contracted carrier for the Florida Times Union for 21 years. She loved being a wife and mother above all else and her time with us was painfully short. Her love for animals will be remembered as her true calling, every stray she saw soon had a new home. Brenda touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
Brenda is survived by her husband, Edward R. Pitts; four sons, Zachery E. Bullock (Miranda), Charles E. Pitts (Ashley), Justin M. Pitts and Joshua A. Pitts (Sarah); daughter, Kayla Pitts; her parents, Jerry and Carolyn Smith; two brothers, Jerry R. Smith Jr. and Jon A. Wright (Laura); sister, Angela D. Smith; mother and father-in-law, Charles and Dena Pitts; four grandchildren, Alicyn Bullock, Mackenzie Price, Blake Pitts and Chase Pitts, as well as many other loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday (TODAY) from 5PM-7PM at JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME.
