ARTHUR BLUM FUNERAL TO BE HELD THURSDAY

Funeral services for Arthur Blum, aged 20, who passed away at 1:45 Monday afternoon in the home of his uncle, Jacob Blum, here, will be conducted at 1:30 Thursday afternoon in the Jacob Blum home and at 2 in the Reformed church. Rev. A. Muehlmeier will officiate. Mr. Blum's death followed a 12 days illness from pleurisy and double pneumonia. On Sunday his temperature had subsided and he seemed, improved. His death came as a shock to members of his family who were expecting his recovery. Hemorrhage of an artery in the heart caused his death.

Arthur Blum, son of Fred and Caroline Theiler Blum, was born in Washington township, June 21, 1905. He had lived most of his life on a farm near Monticello. He attended a rural school and Monticello high school for two years. Last summer he went to Denver, Col., for his health and anticipated another trip to Denver, June 1. The deceased was well known in Monticello. He was confirmed in the Swiss Reformed church of which he was a member. His mother, Mrs. Fred Blum, sister of the late J. H, Theiler, Monroe, passed away Feb. 29, 1924, Surviving are the father, two sisters, Mrs. Walter Voegeli and Mrs. Robert Wild, and three brothers, Herman, Robert and Fred, Jr., all residing near Monticello. Interred in Highland cemetery, Monticello.
