Meta attended Florida State College for Women and Jones Business College and worked with an engineering firm during the building of the Apalachicola Airport. She married Gannon in 1944 and later moved to Port St. Joe in 1951 where they established a local pharmacy for over 50 years. Meta provided strong support for her husband and was a loving mother and doting grandmother. She was involved in PTA, hospital auxiliary, St. Joseph's Bay Country Club Ladies Golf Association and a loyal member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Bernie Buzzett (Peggy), Rex Buzzett (Nancy); daughter, Barbara Terry (Jim); four grandchildren, Brad Buzzett (JoAnne), Amy Croker (Scott), Matt Terry (Krystal), Hamp Terry and three great grandchildren, Gannon Buzzett, Alatia Croker and Madison Terry.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. EDT on Thursday, March 25 at the First United Methodist Church of Port St. Joe, with Mac Fulcher officiating. Graveside services will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at First United Methodist Church of Port St. Joe on Wednesday, March 24 from 5 – 7 p.m. EDT. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 1001 Constitution Drive, Port St. Joe, FL 32456.
