PERSONAL STORIES:

It was told from my grandmother, Lillian Kirkpatrick-Adkins, that after Andrew Jackson George passed away in 1916, Mary Ann Hopkins-George stayed with her children and perhaps other relatives.

After the death of Mary Ann, my Great-Uncle Lowell Adkins brought my grandmother two of Mary Ann Hopkins-George's bonnets that she always wore. My grandmother wasn't home when he delivered them so he hung one up on a picture frame and the bed post in her bedroom. Grandma said when she walked in it felt like she was visiting because that is where she always hung her bonnets. Lillian Adkins, my grandmother, gave me one of the black bonnet that Mary Ann Hopkins used to wear. She also had another black bonnet in her possession but after she passed away someone else in the family got it. It's in pretty good condition considering it's age.

Mary Ann Hopkins-George married a second time to Drew Morton Aft. 11 Feb 1916 prob. in OK. Source of 2nd marriage: There is an obituary for Charles Matthew George, husband of Emma Lous Saladin George, in the Oklahoma Historical Society Library. He died in 1970. His father died in 1917, and his mother remarried Drew Morton, son of Frank Morton. This all according to the obit. There is no mention of Andrew Jackson George in this obituary or in the index of obituaries for Weleetka.
There is no death date on her tombstone.
