Hannah M. (Nye) Howes of Dennis, widow of Harvey L. Howes, died Thursday at a rest home in Hyannis after a long illness, at the age of 76. Daughter of Southworth H. and Annie W. (Howes) Nye, she was a lifelong resident of Dennis and had always taken a prominent part in the village life and activities. Mrs Howes leaves a grandson, Stanley E. Gifford of New York; a sister, Mrs Richard B. Waterhouse of Bourne, a brother, H. Willis Nye of Brockton, two nephews, Joshua Crowell of Dennis and Nye Crowell of West Yarmouth, sons of Nathan Crowell and the late Laura Southworth (Nye) Crowell of East Dennis, and several cousins. Services will be held at her home on New Boston road, Dennis, Sunday afternoon at 1:30, with burial in the Dennis cemetery.
