He was born Feb. 2, 1944, at New Albany, Miss., to Easler and Mary Armstrong.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughter, Jessica Armstrong; stepchildren, John Venman, David Gatlin, Tommy Eldridge, Sheila Havert, Rita Gatlin, Marie Olsen, Michelle Patton and Denette Cooper; brother, David Armstrong; sister, Suzy Mikas; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Mount Joy Cemetery at Mountain View. Arrangements were with Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home at Wynne.

Jerry Rae Armstrong, a resident of Earle, Arkansas, departed this life Monday, July 29, 2013, in Jonesboro, at the age of sixty-nine. He was born on, February 2, 1944, in New Albany, Mississippi, the son of Easler P. "EP" and Mary Opal Hall Armstrong. Jerry married Ms. Mary Janet Duncan on November 9, 1999.
He was a member of the Earle Lighted Pathway Church of God and worked as an OTR truck driver for thirty-two years. He enjoyed working on trucks, hunting, fishing, gardening, and burning. He loved his Yamaha 1400 motorcycle and his family.
Mr. Armstrong was preceded in death by his parents, son: Jerry Lee Armstrong, brothers: Wallace and Bobby Armstrong, and one sister: Mary Jane Armstrong.
Jerry is survived by his wife of thirteen years: Mary Armstrong of the home, daughter: Jessica Armstrong of Perry, Florida, step sons: John Venman of Florida, David Gatlin of Mountain View, Arkansas, Tommy Eldridge of Harrison, Arkansas, five step-daughters: Sheila Havert of Perry, Florida, Rita Gatlin of Earle, Arkansas, Marie Olsen of Mountain View, Arkansas, Michelle Patton of Harrison, Arkansas, Denette Cooper of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, one brother: David Armstrong of Mountain View, Arkansas, one sister: Suzy Mikas of Myrtle, Missouri, sixteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 1, 2013, at the Earle Lighted Pathway Church of God. Visitation will be held, prior to services from 10-11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the church. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday in Mount Joy Cemetery, Mt. View.
