Mr. Morris Leon Wood "Woody", age 68, of Strunk, Kentucky, took his journey home on Sunday, July 28, 2013. He was at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital's Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 1, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at the Angel Cemetery in Stearns, Kentudky The family will receive friends Wednesday after 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born February 2, 1945, in Atlanta, Georgia, he was the son of the Rev. George L and Reva Maxine (Spradin) Wood. He is preceded in death by his father Reverend George Wood, who passed away February 3, 2004.

Surviving family include his wife Kathy Wood of Greenfield, Indiana, his mother Reva Maxine Wood, Strunk, Kentucky, his daughter Leiah Lynnette Etherington (husband Tracy) of Strunk, and stepson Ryan Brooks, Clayton, Indiana. He had five grandchildren; Ashton Bates (and Roxanna Vanover), Macy Brooks, Emma Brooks, Maverick Etherington, and Eli Brooks.

Morris graduated from Muncie Central High School in Muncie, Indiana and attended Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He owned his own business, Morkat Oil, Inc. in Greenfield, Indiana. He was a diesel mechanic and took pride and satisfaction working on trucks. He enjoyed playing music with the Brandywine Band. He was an animal lover and his heart was always with his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family extends a special thanks to the pallbearers and their families: Ashton Bates, Tracy Etherington (and Maverick), Joe Spradlin, Presley Spradlin, Bob Spradlin,Dewayne Spradlin, James Spradlin and Jim Amonett.
