She was born July 12, 1914 in the Town of West Bend, to the late Frank and Barbara (nee Tescher) Bauer.
She attended local schools and later was employed at West Bend Company for several years.
On June 18, 1935, Malinda was united in marriage to Rudolph J. Beck at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. Throughout their lifetime, they enjoyed traveling to all of the 50 states, plus Europe and South America.
Rudy passed away on Oct. 16, 1987.
Malinda was known for her beautiful flower gardens. In 1996, at age 82, she was the proud recipient of the Mayor's Beautification Award for her colorful gardens.
She enjoyed collecting postmarks (she had over 30,000 from US towns) and drying and pressing flowers.
Malinda was a dear lady, much loved by her family, neighbors and friends.
She is survived by two children, Bernard (Judy) Beck of West Bend, and Pauline (Phil S.) Beck of Greenfield. She is further survived by a son-in-law Alex Klos of West Bend, a daughter-in-law, Tolly Beck of Suffern, New York; 10 grandchildren, Michael Klos, Sharon (Tim) Fischer, Steven Klos, Linda Pfaff, Mark (Sharon) Beck, Laura (Steve) Sinclair, David (Cheryl) Beck, Paul (Brenda) Beck, Jennifer Beck, and Justin Beck; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband; a son, Claude, in January 1988; a daughter, Lucy, in August 1988; a daughter, Barbara, in March 2010; a sister, Clara (Don) Theisen; and four brothers, Alex (Marie) Bauer, Herbert (Lillian) Bauer, Edwin (Leona) Bauer, and Alfred (Genevieve) Bauer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Angeline (Matt) Schladweiler, Eugene (Rose) Beck, Margaret (Martin) Schrauth and Carl (Dorothy) Beck.
She and Rudy were charter members of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in West Bend.
The family wishes to thank the staff at River Way Place and Seasons Hospice for their loving care of Malinda.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 18 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church with private interment. The family will greet relatives and friends during a period of visitation at the church only on Monday from 4 until 6:15 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Frances Cabrini Education Fund or to the donor's charity of choice are appreciated.
